Bang! Bang!

You may have noticed the resurgence in popularity of FRINGE! (That is my wannabe cool stylist speak for "bangs") I personally love the look of bangs, the way they frame the face while simultaneously flirting with childhood. I haven't ventured into Bangland in a few years, but I can definitely see it coming in the near future. (are you feelin' me Mo?)

We decided that it was time Charlotte don some fringe since her hair grows in such a way that it falls directly into her face no matter how many hair contraptions/barrettes/clips we put in. So hers is not so much a statement of fashion but more function....but I have to say she does it oh-so adorably.

Blossom Ingles Wilder

Okay, so how amazing are these boots!? I am in love. period. They are so Blossom meets Little House on The Prairie, I could die. I called Dave in so that he could join me in my gushing. I made the above statement, to which he replies, "yeah, somebody is gonna love them"...sigh. That of course is code for "geez, my wife has gone off the deep end again with her crazy Blossom obsession"...
But, I digress....seriously, don't think these boots could be any more perfect, unless, of course, they were in my size. Which they are not. So unfortunately I will be posting them in the Etsy shop eminently. So all you lucky girls with a size 9 1/2 foot and a completely sane love for quirky 80's sitcoms, look for them shortly.

So, Im gonna start out easy on myself and try just an outfit post.:) I wore this yesterday for running errands with the fam, I was super comfy the whole day, which is always gives an outfit bonus points. I need to start out by saying that I am a thrifter through and through. I get the biggest thrill out of making a $10 thrifted outfit into something fashionable(?) of course I leave this open to interpretation.

Item roll call:

Mocassin boots- Savers (chain thrift store...if you havent been you MUST check it out)

Red jeans-originally Forever 21 thrifted from somewhere I cant remember

Beige Tshirt-thrifted

(and my FAVORITE)
Little boys jean jacket- thrifted

I love the cropped effect that this jacket gives when worn by a under-endowed adult woman ;)....I cant claim this idea, I did borrow it from another fashion blog that I follow.
Well, thats all for today, two posts in a row...dare I call it a streak? or maybe just folding to the pressure of my celebrity blogger sis ;)
Also, as I am still formulating content and format of the blog, I welcome any input or suggestions that anyone migth have! Thanks!

Yes, I did just invent a word....

I have been spinning this idea in my head for some time now, wanting to create a blog that embodied who I am as a person. There are many words that come to mind when trying to describe myself...mother, designer, wife, thrifter, friend, daughter, artist, people watcher, seamstress....I came to realize that all of things fall under two categories either fashion or family. What makes it really interesting is when these two worlds collide. Welcome to my passions, my life...my Fashily :)
Some things that Im thinking might find their way onto this blog might include my family in their various stages/version of fashion (yes, that includes extended family), outfit posts, etsy shop updates and Im sure so much more as it evolves.
I am excited to share ,with all who might be interested , my perspective on my life and our world.
